I love sweets…. I can’t deny it…. And I’m not trying too. I’m Danish, so I guess its in my blood… Or maybe that’s just a bad excuse..?.. It’s a good one though:-)
Growing up I never thought about what I put in my mouth. I remember eating whatever, whenever. What a life!
I started modeling years ago, and thats when I started becoming more aware of what I ate. Yes, I’ve gone the extreme ways and have denied myself all kinds of foods…. But I quickly realized that….well, that sucks and it doesn’t work…! I am a firm believer of ‘Everything in moderation’.
I’ve always had a great love for food, and especially baking. When I started baking vegan, my passion led to… well…. this blog!:-)
When I moved to New York City, my baking passion grew. When I married another food lover, my passion grew even bigger. Im married to Michael Chernow, one of the 2 owners of The Meatball Shop in NYC. He inspired me to go to pastry school, and I went to ICE in NY in 2009. When The Meatball Shop opened, I was their first pastry chef.
Over the last few years I’ve gotten into vegan baking. I’m not vegan, but I really enjoy baking vegan treats. Most of my recipes will be 100% vegan, but my ultimate goal with this blog is to write about baked goods and food with GOOD ingredients.
Theres tons of recipes out there for baking. Thats for sure. But when I bake, I use flours, sugars and fats that are good for you! That is my goal. Thats the way I wanna eat my treats… Thats the way I wanna treat my life….
